You've heard the names and seen the alphabet: Missouri Synod (LCMS), Wisconsin Synod (WELS), Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMS), and more. Why do these synods exist, and how may Zion relate to them?
Pr. Gjerde will present the synodical history of Lutherans in America, the current synods, and Zion's relationship to them each Wednesday from October 8 through November 5 at 7 PM in the church fellowship hall (after Vespers has concluded).
Zion's Church Council has renewed discussion of Zion's position in the synodical landscape, and this study will provide helpful information as the congregation considers such associations. Above all, our Lor Jesus calls us to public confession of the faith and obedience to His holy Word (Proverbs 4:4; 2 John 1:9).
