We are excited to announce the Spring 2026 volunteer season with the Special Equestrians program at Triple R Ranch in Chesapeake, VA.Special Equestrians is a recreational riding program that uses horsemanship to help individuals with mental and physical disabilities.
As a volunteer, you will directly contribute to improving their balance, core strength, coordination, and self-confidence.
No horse experience is necessary! You will be fully trained. Each rider is supported by a team of three volunteers:
• Horse Leader: Guides the horse during the session.
• Buddy: Interacts with the rider, offering encouragement and support.
• Side-Walker: Provides physical support to the rider to ensure their stability and safety.
End of Season Volunteer Appreciation Trail Ride (Saturday, May 9th!)
Our Mandatory Volunteer Training will be on Thursday, February 26, 2026 @ 6:00 PM in The Café at Triple R Ranch, 3531 Bunch Walnuts Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23322.
**Wear proper closed-toe footwear and dress for the weather.**
