The CALLI Book Club will look at Eric H. Cline's "1177 BC: The Year Civilization Collapsed." In the decades surrounding 1200 BC, several civilizations in the eastern Mediterranean region suffered a sudden collapse. For years, scholars blamed a mysterious group known as "the Sea Peoples." What really happened? Cline's book examines the evidence, and we will examine Cline's book.No prior reading of the book and no prior knowledge of the subject matter are required. Book club meetings are free and open to the public. The book club is designed for scholars and laymen alike. Bring your lunch and join us.
