(Fall 2022) Web Development Coding Boot Camp - Ladies Only

This event is for females 18 years old and older. This event is in-person.

Are you:

• Wanting to upskill or change your career?
• A small business owner who maintains your own website?
• A parent who wants to introduce your kids to coding?

Your "why" may be different, but the goal is the same - helping you learn computer programming to see how it can empower you and open up a world of new possibilities.

The day will feature coding lessons using HTML and CSS to introduce concepts to build a basic webpage, add text, images, and adjust the layout of the webpage.

Your day will end with 2 panel discussions.  The first panel will offer information on how to continue your coding education, and we will end the day hearing from women about what it’s like to work as a professional web designer or developer.

BYOD: Bring Your Own Device Because of the software used to build your 1-page website, a Windows based laptop/tablet PC with a USB port is required to participate in this boot camp. You can also use the Windows Notepad software if you do not have a USB port on your laptop. **Mac Users: You can use your device if you have TextEdit installed on your Mac.** (Lessons cannot be done on a tablet, smart phone, or similar mobile device.).

No Device, No Problem! We have laptops available for you to use at no charge. Simply Add the "Borrow a Laptop" option to your ticket at checkout. 

Supplies: You will be given a flash drive at boot camp to build your webpage and you will take it home so you can continue learning and adding code to your website. A take home instruction manual with reminders and additional resources to use at home is included.

• 3:15 PM Panel Discussion: Get Educated! Learn about education opportunities online and offline to learn web design/development
• 4 PM Panel Discussion: Work It! Q & A with current female web designers/ developers
• 4:45 PM Certificate presentation/END

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Yes. This coding boot camp is for females18 years and older

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking onsite

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring your own Windows-based laptop or Laptop PC. If using a Mac please make sure you have TextEdit (notepad) installed. **If you need a laptop, one will be available for you to use during class**

What's the refund policy?

7 days BEFORE event starts

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is preferred, but not necessary.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferable?

Yes. Please email with the new attendees name.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, but please email the attendees information at least 3 days before the event starts.

 **Wearing a face mask is encouraged, but not required.**
