About this Event
Faith and Silence: A Conversation with Gregg Tucker
Join author Gregg Tucker for a Q&A conversation about his recently released memoir, Faith and Silence, at Denver Book Society.
The book tells the story of Tucker's 17 years as a teacher and Dean of Student Life at Faith Christian Academy in Arvada, Colorado, and what happened after he organized a chapel discussion on race and faith in 2018. Within days, he was placed on leave and eventually terminated — a decision that led to a multi-year legal battle that reached the U.S. Supreme Court.
Beyond his personal story, the book explores broader themes of institutional accountability, Christian nationalism in education, and how faith communities respond when uncomfortable truths surface.
Since its release, many former students have come forward to share their own experiences, and the story has been featured in the Arvada Press and other outlets.
This event will be more of a community conversation than a traditional author reading. Former students, parents, faculty, and anyone interested in the intersection of faith, race, and institutional culture are welcome.
Books will be available for purchase at the event.
