Fairy Tale Forest with International Story-teller Priscilla Howe

Join a roundtable discussion about fairy tales and how they've been significant in your life. Conversations will be facilitated by Guest Artist: Professional Storyteller: Priscilla Howe. Using a variety of forest themed stencils, we will depict the forest on a 7 inch tall gothic window die cut from mat board. I will walk you through all the steps and best practices with each kind of medium and tools. Next, students will select a fairy tale character from an extensive collection of vintage resources and collage it into the scene. Make a decorative porch or portico if you are so inspired.

If participants are interested, finished pieces may be submitted to be included in my solo show a the Phoenix Underground for July 2026 Final Friday that explores the forest as a character in fairy tales. NOTE: This class is held in the morning.

Class size is limited to 10 participants.

There are no cash refunds, however the price of the class can be used as credit in a future class, either for yourself or a gift to another, credit towards private lessons or a deposit on a custom commission paper garment.

If you have never been to Art Emergency, it can be a little tricky - Ninth street appears to end right at Delaware but there are still addresses East of this junction. Cross over Delaware and turn right into the SECOND parking lot - it will be on to a gravel lot. The entrance to the classes the second door, half way down the warehouse.
