Fairies - A new musical R&D Showing

Come join us for an enchanting evening at Pier Street where we will be showcasing a sneak peek of our brand new musical. Please note this is not a full production but a showing of ideas, music and concepts. There will be no lighting, limited costumes and set but a whole load of energy and ideas. Fairies of the Underground is a contemporary piece of musical theatre which is still in development and having its first R&D in April 2024.

Its story features several fairies who find themselves trapped in the Underground and are found by our protagonist, Lola. This music-led piece of theatre focuses on the clash of two worlds: natural and industrial. The fairies, of the natural world, struggle to understand how they have ended up a part of this man-made world of the bustling Underground. Exploring incantation within themes of grief and finding, Lola is on her way home after the death of her grandmother, and the possessions she’s kept in her memory transport her to the world of the fairies onboard the Underground. Featuring female stories from a female-led cast and largely female creative team.
