About this Event
Join us in celebrating the start of Filipino American History Month with a powerful screening of The Delano Manongs, a documentary which highlights the stories of Filipino farm workers whose labor rights activism shaped the history of the Central Valley and beyond. These unsung heroes played a pivotal role in the Delano Grape Strike and the broader farm labor movement, leaving a lasting impact on the region’s agricultural legacy.
The contributions of Filipino workers, including Larry Itliong, not only paved the way for better working conditions but also set the foundation for major strides in social justice. Their courage and determination remain a cornerstone of Central Valley’s farming history, and their influence continues to shape the labor rights movements of today. This screening will shed light on their struggle, perseverance, and the significant role they played in transforming agricultural communities like ours.
Attendees will be able to enjoy complimentary refreshments from Hapa California Coffee and delicious merienda provided by Hashtag Maganda!
