Faculty & Friends | Commemorating the 80th Year of Composer-pianist David Brown

Join us for a special evening as we celebrate the accomplishments and works of David Brown, a beloved Music School faculty member and composer. This in-person & live-streamed event promises to be an unforgettable experience filled with heartfelt performances, original works, and cherished memories.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 7:00 PM, and help us celebrate this joyous occasion. During the concert, you'll have the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, share stories, and express your gratitude for David's unwavering dedication. It's a chance to reminisce about the countless lives he has touched and the indelible mark he has left on our institution.

The program will feature numerous solo works performed by pianist Jennifer Nicole Campbell and the composer. These will include Mr. Brown's first sonata ("Birthday Sonata"), Pedal Point Preludes, and recent works While Clouds, Blue Canyons (2020), and Variations on a Dvorak Theme (2022), performed by Ms. Campbell. Mr Brown's solos will include Prelude and Ricerare, selections from Eclectic Poems, and recent works Into the Heartland (2019), Quest (2022), and Petite Rhapsody (2023). Opening and closing the concert will be Mr. Brown's second and fourth trios for violin, cello, and piano. These will be performed by Kate Ransom,
