About this Event
Led by theatre directors and facilitators Amy Golding and Jonluke McKie, this one day facilitator training course will focus on how to create a sense of welcome for diverse participants and co-creators, how to structure and deliver sessions and programmes of creative participatory work through a values-led facilitation approach. It is a chance to reflect on your own style, practice and ambitions as a facilitator.
The course will be an opportunity to spend time and learn together with a diverse group of facilitators with a mix of lived experience. Whether you are very new to facilitation or have been working as a facilitator for decades this course is for you, it is an opportunity to reflect on your practise and your ambitions as well as pick up some practical skills and have a lot of fun playing together. This session is suitable for facilitators or budding facilitators working in any artform.
Please let us know any access requirements you may have in the order form.
Lunch will be provided, please indicate any dietary requirements in the order form.
Quotes from previous course participants:
“I got so much from this! It was a supportive environment to meet other creative facilitators. As a facilitator I do not often get an opportunity to be a participant and this in itself was of huge value. I loved the way there was equal space for both practical exercises and thoughtful discussion. It has got my creative juices flowing again!”
“My eyes were opened to adapting to facilitating workshops with people from different backgrounds. I will now look at language used within a space differently & have made some great connections with people.”
“I began training thinking there was a secret magical recipe for being a good facilitator. It was both relieving and practical to learn this is not the case. I reflected on my own qualities as a facilitator and the ones i want to develop”
“I found it really interesting to unpick language and actions, to ask why I do things a certain way and to explore if the way that I do things serves me as an artist and the people that take part in my workshops.”
“The collective energy of the group felt like it was one of discovery and forward thinking”
