About this Event
Struggling with implementing diversity, equity + inclusion? Wanting to build community outside of your comfort zone? Join us as we unravel the power of creative facilitation to bring joy to the marathon of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) on the job or in community settings. This is a participatory space to learn why JEDI matters, gain new tools + apply to real-life challenges, with support, one module per week.

- September 28th/MODULE 3 - How to Build Inclusive Spaces
- October 5th/MODULE 4 - How to Create Community without Competition
- October 12th/MODULE 5 - How to Divorce Supremacy Culture
- October 19th/MODULE 6 - How to Audit/Assess Your DEI Status
- October 26th/MODULE 7 - How to Engage in Allyship & Mutual Aid
- November 2nd/MODULE 8 - How to Sustain Creative Placemaking/keeping
- November 9th/MODULE 9 - How to Build a Culture of Consent
- November 16th/MODULE 10 - How to Promote Innovation & Design
Modules may be taken as a series or a one-time workshop, depending on what you need. You can sign up for the entire series here or individual sessions. Participants of 7+ modules will receive a Certificate of Completion after facilitating at a community demo day to demonstrate their learning. More details provided in class!
This will support you with meetings, productivity, team-building, professional development, addressing conflict, building inclusive spaces, harm reduction, moving away from competition, critical analysis, strategic planning, community service and engagement, leadership, internal and external communications, adapting to ever-changing technology or a hybrid/remote team environment.
About the facilitator:
Cortina Jenelle Caldwell, D.Div, MAML is a Southern Appalachian native, perpetual student of life and resident of Scenic City. After coming off of a nearly 2 year digital nomading adventure, Cortina moved to Chattanooga on a whim after falling in love with the natural landscape, thriving arts sector and spirit of service. Over the last 15+ years, Cortina's collective body of work in creative facilitation, hospitality, land + agriculture, the arts, entrepreneurship, media + technology, DEI/JEDI and leadership development has earned the respect and honor of publishing by Creative Mornings, PechaKucha, NPR, Kennedy Center's Partners in Education, UNC World View, National Guild for Community Arts Education, Partners for Youth Empowerment, YWCA's Stand Against Racism, Earthaven Ecovillage and others.
