#FacilitateSheffield June Gathering 2026
About this Event
Join us at this latest #FacilitateSheffield catch up!
We're a friendly and talented bunch, who live or work in or around Sheffield.
We meet bi-monthly as a community in Sheffield City Centre. It's a super simple format: one of us facilitates a short session to showcase our style and practice in a safe space. We do some announcements and share updates relevant to facilitation. And then we network - chat, catch up, drink coffee and enjoy each others' company.
Our purpose is to get to know eachother, share work and opportunities, learn from each other, collaborate and raise the profile of the many fantastic facilitators in our great city.
Whether you're an experienced facilitator or just getting started on your facilitation journey, this network is for you!
It's free to attend, but please only book a ticket if you're sure you want to come along - places are limited and we always sell out, so last-minute drop outs are a real shame.
This session, our facilitator is Rebecca Edgcumbe, who will take us through an interactive introduction to DISC and how we can use it in our work as facilitators - both to understand our own style and to understand how to work with people with different behavioural styles.
The Universal Language of DISC
DISC is a widely used behavioural assessment model that categorises communication and working styles into four primary types, based on the work of psychologist William Moulton Marston:
- Dominance
- Influence
- Steadiness
- Conscientiousness
What you’ll learn
Understanding DISC can help you improve collaboration, adapt your communication approach, and build stronger working relationships. In this session, we’ll explore
- What DISC is and how it works
- What your personal style might be
- How DISC can support you in your role as a facilitator
Who’s This For?
This meetup is perfect for anyone who:
- Is keen to learn simple but powerful facilitation techniques.
- Is looking for fresh ways to tackle challenges.
- Enjoys connecting with others and sharing ideas in a supportive space.
