The DC Jazz Festival, FACE Foundation and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy present FACE Jazz & New Music Concert featuring saxophonist Jacques Schwarz-Bart.

 ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jacques Schwarz-Bart has been at the center of several musical revolutions: from neo soul next to D’angelo and Erykah Badu to New Jazz as a founding member of Roy Hargrove RH Factor. He is a leading pioneer in the creation of reuniting jazz music with its Afro-Caribbean and spiritual origins. Jacques’ impressionistic writing, powerful tone, and wide-ranging language – both lyrical and angular – have fueled a growing presence on the world stage. Schwarz-Bart was awarded the status of Knights of the Arts and Letters by the French government in 2015. He teaches at Berklee College of Music while keeping up with a steady touring schedule.

This French-American Jazz Exchange Concert is a partnership between the DC Jazz Festival, the FACE Foundation, and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. The Charles Fishman Embassy Series is made possible by the generous support of Linda and Michael Sonnenreich.

What-To-Know:

Masks, proof of vaccination and ID will be required to enter the French Embassy. Each person attending the event must have a ticket registered in their name and a government-issued ID that matches the name on the reservation in order to enter the Embassy. No need to print your ticket, but no one will be admitted without reservation and proper ID.

Due to strict security measures, please arrive on time, doors will be closed at 7:30 PM sharp. Please allow extra time for security screening.

All necessary measures are taken, including but not limited to: controlled capacity, frequent cleaning of high traffic areas, circulation patterns, and safe social distancing throughout the buildings and embassy grounds. If you are an at-risk person, have symptoms, have been in contact with a sick person or a person who has tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 14 days, we ask that you do not come to one of these events.
