Fabric Stamping Workshop

Discover the creative possibilities of textile surface design in this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop. Participants will learn the fundamentals of fabric stamping while exploring how artists and makers use surface treatments to transform plain textiles into unique works of art. Students will create a custom printed cotton bandana while gaining an introduction to a variety of fabric manipulation techniques that can be incorporated into future sewing, fashion, and textile projects.

By the end of the workshop, students will:

● Understand the history and basic principles of fabric stamping and block printing.

● Learn about a variety of textile surface manipulation techniques, including fabric stamping, block printing, tie-dye, fabric painting, screen printing, discharge printing, and other color surface treatments.

● Learn how to plan and repeat patterns for successful textile design.

● Practice proper application of fabric printing inks.

● Learn about proper curing and heat-setting techniques for fabric inks.

● Create a one-of-a-kind stamped cotton bandana to take home.

● Leave with stamped practice prints that can serve as inspiration for future projects

Hi, I’m Gir Session! I’m a costume maker, textile artist, and sewing instructor with over 15 years of experience working with fabric, color, and design. I love helping people discover just how fun and approachable textile arts can be—whether you’re trying something new for the first time or looking to expand your creative toolbox.

In my classes, you’ll learn practical techniques in a relaxed, welcoming environment where curiosity and creativity are encouraged. My goal is for everyone to leave with a unique project they’re proud of, new skills, and the confidence to keep creating long after class is over.
