Osobní i profesní náklonnost mecenášky Truus Schröder-Schräderové a nizozemského architekta a designéra Gerrita Rietvelda vedla v roce 1924 ke vzniku Domu Rietvelda a Schröderové, který je od roku 2000 na seznamu světového dědictví UNESCO. Dokument je průřezem tvorby tohoto ikonického designéra, člena uměleckého hnutí De Stijl, přičemž speciální pozornost je věnována zmíněné první realizaci. Dům byl velkým experimentem vzešlým ze vzájemné inspirace a úzké spolupráce obou partnerů, principů zde využitých Rietveld následně použil ve tvorbě dalších svých děl.

The personal and professional affection between the patron Truus Schröder-Schräder and the Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld led to the creation of the Rietveld and Schröder House in 1924, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. The documentary is a cross-section of the work of this iconic designer, a member of the De Stijl art movement, with special attention to the first realisation. The house was a great experiment born out of mutual inspiration and close collaboration between the two partners, and Rietveld subsequently applied the principles used here to his other works.
