Explore the possibilities of printmaking with materials from your recycling bin, including Tetra Pak, mat board, and cardboard packaging.
About this Event

Explore the possibilities of printmaking with materials from your recycling bin, including Tetra Pak (beverage cartons), mat board, and cardboard packaging. These humble materials produce results with a surprising level of depth and detail, and the process is low-cost and completely non-toxic. You will use traditional and non-traditional mark making techniques, and print your work using the Barnsdall etching press. You’ll use non-toxic AKUA inks and learn how to alter them for increased transparency and layering. You’ll also be able to go beyond the basics by using chine-colle to add color, texture, and pattern to your work. Experimentation is encouraged! You’ll have ample time to explore a variety of materials and techniques. Suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced printmakers.
