About this Event

In 1996, Swiss journalist Irena Brežná travelled to Chechnya to meet and write a report on the work and activities of Chechen women under Russian bombs and missiles. She lived with them in the ruins under shelling and befriended courageous anti-war activists. Irena returned to the North Caucasus four times to meet her friends. Upon returning to Switzerland, she organised aid packages for Chechen women and other humanitarian projects. In her speech, Irena Brežná will talk about her experience in this forgotten war without rules.
