About the work in progress: eyes are portals to the soul unfolds as a dance performance, crafting a poignant physical portrait. The work delicately traces the journey of a young black woman as she unravels the tapestry of her girlhood and reshapes the meaning of womanhood. Guided by the map of bell hooks' "all about love: new visions," the piece aligns with the book's overarching structure, employing it as a compass for the choreographic exploration. This artistic endeavor is a sacred odyssey— a healing and redemptive pilgrimage toward love.
