About this Event
The closing party of the Architectural Fireworks Design Competition and Blasting Chamber coincides with both the last week at Bompas & Parr’s Bermondsey studio and Election Night.
You are invited to a cathartic party that celebrates all at once. An election night banger!
Fireworks have a close, albeit uneasy relationship with British politics. Our national day for fireworks, Guy Fawkes commemorates the foiled attempt to use a black-powder explosion to destroy parliament.
Through strange synchronicity, this year’s Parliamentary election is being held on 4th July, America’s national fireworks day. Again a day when colourful explosions are used to commemorate an important political landmark.
Come revel with us at the most explosive event of the Election.
One where you can stand in the centre of a sulphurous rainbow maelstrom. The eye of the storm is the powerful Architectural Firework Blasting Chamber developed for the London Festival of Architecture.
Don protective regalia and stand at the heart of a pyrotechnic apocalypse, one in which all precautions are taken.
The experience can be your lustral moment for release during a highly emotional evening.A partially soundproofed bar lets visitors enjoy drinks right next to the maelstrom. Walk the line of danger with us.

Fireworks for a creative future:
Fireworks have been the driving force behind many of the world’s crucial scientific endeavours. Dr. Simon Werrett of UCL, a historian of sciences, maintains that many of the world’s preeminent scientific establishments and discoveries were the direct result of rulers, potentates, aristocrats and government’s desire for explosives - for pleasure or war. What will come from the crucible of the 4th! Furthermore, the Nobel Prize was established in 1895 by Swedish scientist Alfred Nobel, inventor of dynamite. So great things can come from powerful explosions.
PLEASE NOTE: Tickets are required for entry, please ensure to book as spaces are limited
