Join us on May 17th for an “Extra” Special Send Off!
If you have dined with us in the last 4 years most likely Caitlyn has been your “Extra” Special Server! Caitlyn is one of the hardest working and kind individuals I have met. Please join me in congratulating her on completing her Master of Social Work with an emphasis on Criminal Psychology, but with this amazing accomplishment it’s time for her to start the next chapter in her life.
May 17th will be Caitlyn’s last shift at Precinct, and I want to make it a sendoff to remember! She will only be moving a few short hours away for now, I think that’s how I’m working through this goodbye.
Four years ago, this young lady walked through the door, Karina told me she hired her. It was right after covid if I remember correctly, we needed bodies! You never quite know in this industry a person’s experience or if their personalities will mesh with your current crew. Caitlyn’s upbeat personality fit in perfectly, I mean it was a bit “Extra” (that’s her nickname here) but I think we needed a little something extra added to our crew.
She was always willing to help anyone. You never heard that isn’t my job come out of her mouth. It was always what can I do to help? This girly girl wasn’t afraid to take garbage out, get her hands dirty in the dish pit, or cleaning up after Mikey! Coming in early or staying late. Mind you this young lady was in school the whole time along with working internships and other jobs as well. She is the energizer bunny to say the least. Sometimes I really don’t know how she does it all.
She always brings something a little more special to each shift.
Things I’m going to miss on a daily…..
-her High Kicking in the kitchen to make me laugh
-those Extra big lashes looking at me from the front line
-her hugs hello & goodbye
-our chats about everything and anything
-the fact that she is so crazy intelligent but math and culinary terms are not her strong suit!
-the fact she knew how to bring me back to where I needed to be when stressed on the line with a window of tickets staring me in the face and making sure the other employees knew to give me some space. She is a protector and care giver for sure.
A lot of people come and go through these doors in the industry. It’s quite special when you get one that decides to play restaurant with you for a long period of time. Those people become family. In this industry we often spend more time with our work family than our own families. That bond is strong. Some say you can’t pick your family, but I think you can!
I know as I write this not only for myself, but I write this for the whole crew here: Caitlyn we are so proud of you! We wish you the best! Please come back and see us! You can always pick up a shift whenever you want! I’m so glad we taught you how to say Artichoke and Cumin! Pickles and Peanut Butter together I will never understand! I’m sorry I ruined eating out other places for you! Always be “Extra”! Thank you for always being there for me and all of us! It was my pleasure to employ you the last 4 years!
So Again feel free to stop in and join us on May 17th to say goodbye to Miss Caitlyn!
Pay no attention to the chef in the back ugly crying that night!
PEACE OUT GIRL SCOUT!!
