Extended Turntablism showcases four artists exploring the midpoint between sonic improvisation and rhythmic syncopation using modified turntables as their starting point. Graham Dunning (UK)
Mechanical Techno pioneer building turntable towers that trigger an array of rhythms with each layer. Modular synths, light-reflecting prisms and even ping pong balls come into play.
DJ Food (UK)
Ninja Tune original whose custom four-armed Quadraphon deck creates polyrhythmic beatscapes filtered through dub FX. One tonearm good - four tonearms better.
Furrowed (UK)
The Vinyl Tattooist, literally at the cutting edge via homemade record cutters creating loops in real time. Expect lo-fi looping, clicks, pops and crunch as records are made, celebrated and destroyed.
Duplokit (NZ - Debut UK show)
Lathe cutting journeymen on a quest with customised, multiple tonearmed decks with experimental belt-driven 'warpdrive' controllers. Built for the purpose of exploring lathe-cut, locked-groove, vinyl records, playback synchronised with synthesisers and drum machines.
The acts will play in random in combinations, it can get pretty heavy and acidic in places.
