Expédition CASCADES / CASCADES Expedition

Programmée à l’été et à l’automne 2026, l’Expédition CASCADES est une mission de recherche collaborative menée en Arctique par le Swiss Polar Institute, l'Institut polaire français et l'Institut nordique du Québec en partenariat avec le programme « Transformer l’action pour le climat » du Fonds d’excellence en recherche Apogée Canada. Elle se déroule en deux étapes de 28 jours, combinant travail scientifique et transit.

La conférence se tient entre les deux missions CASCADES et rassemble des scientifiques impliqués dans la première mission pour obtenir un retour d’expérience et comprendre leur travail.

Organisé conjointement par l'Ambassade de France en Suisse et au Liechtenstein, le Département fédéral des affaires étrangères et l'Ambassade du Canada en Suisse et au Liechtenstein,

En partenariat avec les institutions de recherche (Swiss Polar Institute, Institut polaire français Paul-Émil Victor et Institut nordique du Québec).

Cet évènement est limité à 150 participants et se déroulera en français et en anglais sans traduction.

When international scientific cooperation advances Artic research

Scheduled for the summer and fall of 2026, the CASCADES Expedition is a collaborative research mission conducted in the Arctic by the Swiss Polar Institute, the French Polar Institute, and the Institut nordique du Québec, in partnership with the “Transforming Climate Action” program of the Canada First Research Excellence Fund. It will take place in two 28-day phases, combining scientific work and transit.

The conference is being held between the two CASCADES missions and brings together scientists involved in the first mission to gather feedback and gain insight into their work.

Organized jointly by the French Embassy in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, and the Canadian Embassy in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

In partnership with research institutions (Swiss Polar Institute, French Polar Institute Paul-Émil Victor, and Quebec Nordic Institute).

This event is limited to 150 participants and will be conducted in French and English without translation.
