Expressive Trees in Charcoal with Emily Rose Fine Art
This course is perfect for people afraid of drawing, or people wanting to improve their drawing skills!
We will have a playful morning with charcoal and various papers while we explore mark making and how this can change the quality of our drawings in only a few hours.
You will produce a small collection of tree drawings with my help as we consider form, drape, composition and perspective. While these can be complicated concepts, we will come at them in a playful manner that makes them easy to approach and incorporate into your own work.
In the afternoon, we will turn our attention to colour. Working with a limited pastel chalk palette, we will create a dynamic Scots Pine portrait. We will incorporate what we have learned in the morning to make this drawing appear to tower over us with expressive perspective and use our fauvist-inspired colours to create a captivating piece.
This workshop is open to all levels, just bring an enthusiastic attitude and borrow one of our aprons as it can get messy!
Skill level: Suitable for all.
