Express Yourself! Textured Abstract and Mixed Media Acrylic Painting

Pour, glue, cut, brush, blend, smooth- Participate in guided experiments where you will learn how different Acrylic mixed media materials work and what effects they create. I will show you techniques in working with acrylic mediums, glazing, and creating texture with rice paper, lace, fabric, sand and more. Each session will have a theme and a demonstration that will be provided. Alternative media like acrylic ink, pastels, and pencils will be provided on a rotating basis.

Finding the time to paint is always a challenge and if it has been months or years since you have painted there can be a palpable hurtle standing in ones way of getting out those brushes and sitting down in front of a canvas. This space allows you the time and space without creating an at home art studio or needing to immediately go out and buy a plethora of materials. I will be here to teach a few techniques and provide books and images of inspiring art and techniques that may inspire you and to be a fellow painter. All are welcome, including youth 6 and over with an adult all materials are provided.
