Du 13 février au 28 mars, la galerie Espace VERRE présente Sauvage, une exposition solo de Florentin Chaumet. Cette collection inédite, composée de trois séries, explore avec profondeur et sensibilité les multiples facettes de la condition humaine dans le monde contemporain, tout en proposant une critique des dérives de nos sociétés modernes.
Souffleur et sculpteur, Florentin Chaumet a trouvé dans le verre un langage universel, une matière dont le caractère à la fois solide et fragile traduit parfaitement les tensions qui marquent nos existences. À travers SAUVAGE, il interroge les fondements de notre humanité face à des structures sociétales souvent aliénantes. Sa quête de sens et de partage guide son processus créatif et se reflète dans chacune de ses œuvres.
Florentin Chaumet conjugue prouesses techniques et esthétique pour repousser les limites de son médium. Son travail, empreint d’une charge émotionnelle et conceptuelle forte, invite le public à se questionner, à ressentir, et à se reconnecter à son essence profonde.
Originaire de France, Florentin Chaumet s’établit au Québec en 2017. Lauréat du titre de Meilleur Apprenti de France en 2012, il poursuit des études en arts verriers, notamment à Espace VERRE, où il obtient en 2020 un DEC en Techniques de métiers d’art – option verre. Il participe à sa première exposition collective, L’Étrange couleur de la transparence, en 2024. SAUVAGE est sa première exposition solo.
📍 La galerie Espace VERRE est située au 1200, rue Mill à Montréal et est ouverte du lundi au vendredi de 9 h à 17 h, ainsi que le dernier dimanche de chaque mois de 12 h à 17 h. L’entrée est gratuite.

From February 13 through March 28, 2025, the Espace VERRE gallery will present SAUVAGE, a solo exhibition featuring the newer works of Florentin Chaumet’s. Divided in three parts, the exhibition profoundly and sensitively explores the many facets of the human condition in a contemporary world, while proposing a critique on the derivatives of our modern societies.
As a glassblower and sculptor, Florentin Chaumet has found a universal language in glass, a material whose character, both solid and fragile, perfectly reflects the tensions that mark our existence. Through SAUVAGE, he questions the foundations of our humanity in the face of its frequent alienation of societal structures. His quest for meaning and sharing guides his creative process and is reflected in each of his works.
Florentin Chaumet combines technical prowess and aesthetics to push the limits of his medium. His work, imbued with a strong emotional and conceptual charge, invites the public to question themselves, to feel, and to reconnect with their deep essence.
Originally from France, Florentin Chaumet was awarded the title of Meilleur Apprenti de France in 2012. In 2017, he relocated to Quebec to pursue his glass arts studies at Espace VERRE, where he obtained a DEC in fine crafts - glass option, in 2020. He participated in his first group exhibition, L’Étrange couleur de la transparence, in 2024. SAUVAGE is his first solo exhibition.
📍 The Espace VERRE gallery is located at 1200 Mill Street in Montreal and is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well as the last Sunday of each month from noon. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
