About this Event
January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and raising awareness is one of our sharpest weapons in our fight to combatting human trafficking. Join Sparrow Freedom Project and Wayne State Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice in an expert panel discussion on the realities of pornography.
Our experts are Chrissy Hemphill, Human Trafficking Specialist; Michelle Jarczewski, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Wayne County; Sgt. Nathan MacRae, City of Westland Police Department; and Kevin Outland, Speaker and Writer.
We will be starting our panel discussion at approximately 5pm at Wayne State University in the Lower Level Stage of the Student Center. Q&A from the audience will start approximately 6:15pm.
Topics to be covered will include discussing what is pornography; what are the three classes of illegal pornography; and how and why it often leads into human trafficking.
We hope you will join us for this insightful discussion. Attending such an event is the first step in combatting human trafficking.
