In Exploring Watercolor Part 2 w/ Richelle Daniels, participants will build upon the basics they learned in Part 1 and delve deeper into the world of watercolor. They will learn advanced techniques along with layering, glazing, and wet-on-wet painting. Participants will explore the use of different brushes and tools to achieve a variety of effects.
In addition to techniques, participants will also learn about color theory and how to mix colors to achieve the desired hue and value. They will experiment with different color combinations to create mood and atmosphere in their paintings.
By the end of this workshop, participants will have a deeper understanding of watercolor and the tools and techniques used to create beautiful and expressive works of art. They will have the skills necessary to continue exploring and experimenting with watercolor on their own. This four-part workshop will be held on four consecutive Wednesdays starting October 29 (Oct. 29, Nov. 5, Nov. 12 and Nov. 19) from 6 - 8 p.m.
The workshop is designed for adults and teens 15 years or older. The registration fee is $90 for LACA members and $110 for non-members, which includes all supplies. Those interested can register online at ludingtonartscenter.org or call 231-854-2787.
Richelle Daniels has nearly 20 years of experience teaching art to preschool-9th grade students at Cadillac Area Public Schools and art programs for youth at ArtWorks in Big Rapids. Since retiring in January 2022, she has relocated to Ludington and is rediscovering her creativity and personal artistic journey by exploring mixed media, watercolor, fiber design, and much more. She is looking forward to sharing her creative experience with others and learning some new things about herself.
