About this Event

The conference explores the shifting goals and rationales for competition law and unpacks the complex questions underlying the calls for antitrust law to “do more.”

  • But how much should antitrust law do and is there anything it should emphatically not do?
  • Which goals and standards form part of the inextricable core of antitrust law and which are extraneous to it?
  • How should antitrust law interact with other policy goals, or should it strive to integrate them (or be integrated into them)?
  • What are the risks of giving antitrust authorities an overly broad mandate?
  • How can antitrust law evolve without compromising its integrity?
  • How many parts of the metaphorical ship of Theseus of antitrust can we change until it stops being antitrust and becomes something entirely different?
