About this Event
L earn what it takes to be an ecologist as you hike along the richly biodiverse Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed trails. Let's dive into recent evolution of local species, impacts of invasive species, affects of changes in hydrology, and how climate change factors into all of these topics. Prepare to partake in a survey of local biodiversity with a local ecologist, John Cassani!
Participants will get an up close introduction to reptiles and amphibian science and survey methods at CREW. We will also present on why it is important to conserve this import group which is under serious threat of population decline and extinction worldwide.
J ohn Cassani has served SWFL as an ecologist, waterkeeper, and conservation advocate for several decades. He recently retired from the Calusa Waterkeepers where he facilitated years of important water quality research and advocacy.
