Exploring Gilded Age Gramercy & Flatiron w/ Speakeasy Cocktail Tasting

What do President Theodore Roosevelt, famed Shakespearean actor Edwin Booth, and architect Stanford White all have in common? They can all trace some of the most important periods of their lives (and in one case, also their death) to the neighborhoods of Gramercy and Flatiron. From walking its historic streets to sipping on Gilded Age-inspired cocktails at a world-famous speakeasy, it's time to uncover the area's past in a whole new way.

Join New York Adventure Club as we go back in time to the late 1800s and explore the Manhattan neighborhoods of Gramercy and Flatiron. Starting with a full walking tour of the area, we'll end at the legendary NYC cocktail bar, Dear Irving, for expertly-crafted 19th century-themed cocktails.

Led by licensed New York tour guide James Hoffman, our unique 2.5 hour experience will include:

• A visit to the area's most historic green spaces including Madison Square Park and Gramercy Park (from outside the gates of this fenced-in private park — one of only two in New York City)
• A discussion of grand structures that once defined the Manhattan neighborhood including the original Madison Square Garden, the Hoffman House Hotel, and Delmonico's
• A walk by notable 19th century sites in Gramercy and Flatiron that are still standing such as the Flatiron Building, The Players, birthplace of Theodore Roosevelt, and National Arts Club (former home of American Politician Samuel Tilden)
• Private access inside Dear Irving's Marie Antoinette room for two complimentary 19th century-style cocktails and charcuterie bites
