About this Event
Join us for this opportunity to learn about an area that produces some of the most expensive and sought-after wines in the world. Wine has been produced in Burgundy since at least the year 200, and likely long before. It is also the birthplace of some of the best Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs made today. Since most of the wines in Burgundy are produced with just Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, Burgundy can seem deceptively simple. However, it is the vineyard sites, or terroir, that gives the wines their distinction. In Burgundy, there are more than 100 different appellations that are further broken down into thousands of tiny individual plots. The meticulous selection of these specific vineyard sites over the millennia is what has made Burgundy such a unique and special place in the wine world. This tasting is a great opportunity to get an inside perspective on this world-famous region from Patrick Allen who has spent the last 30 years working in the wine industry, who has also lived and worked in Burgundy. In addition, we will enjoy a selection of carefully paired light hors d’oeuvres chosen to elevate the wines.
