About this Event
Event Information
Through collaborative research involving consultation with community members and archives, the 1882 Foundation has been preparing a report on the history of Chinese and Korean Americans in DC. This is a project commissioned by the DC Preservation League and Historic Preservation Office with funds from the National Park Service.
Join us to learn more about this project, as well as efforts to document other local Asian American histories. Come share your own DC stories and experiences! Light refreshments will be provided thanks to contributions from our sponsor, Asian and Pacific Islander Americans in Historic Preservation (APIAHiP).
This in-person event is free and registration on Eventbrite is highly recommended. To ensure the well being and safety of all participants, we will not be admitting people into the room once we reach capacity.
If you have been in recent contact with anyone who has had cold symptoms or tested positive for COVID, we ask that you consider attending virtually instead or wearing a face mask and maintaining social distance if you attend in-person.
Zoom Registration
Information for attending virtually over Zoom will be shared closer to the date of the event. Check back on this page soon for more details!
Arrival and Parking
Please note: Just prior to our program, the DC Mayor’s Office of Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs is presenting a free festival at the neighborhood park across the street from the Chinese Community Church from 11am to 2pm. This may impact traffic and parking conditions. Consider arriving early and checking out the performances and activities. Make a day of it!
