About this Event
Exploring Architecture: New London Architecture Model Talk
Thursday 5th February 2026, 11am-12pm
Join RIBA Learning to explore London from new perspectives, uncovering special insight into the city through the New London Architecture’s 1:2000 scale model.
Measuring in at 16.5 metres long, and stretching from King’s Cross down to Lewisham, and Wembley across to Barking and Dagenham, there’s 21 boroughs captured and recorded in model-form.
Whether exploring the stories that shaped the fabric of our city or uncovering its previously hidden histories, the NLA model talk is filled with character, history and wonder. Led by a member of the NLA team, it’s a great opportunity to find out more about the City of London using the model for context.
This event is for anyone aged 55 or over that has an interest in discovering more about architecture, with a chance for discussion. Free, please book a place.
New London Architecture at The London Centre
The model talk will take place at The London Centre – the NLA’s free-to-access gallery space highlighting the vital people, places and buildings of our city. Located in the West Wing of the Guildhall complex, it brings together the public, politicians, and young people as well as stakeholders, senior decision-makers, and civic leaders alike, to shape the future of the city.
Exploring Architecture is a monthly free event exploring areas of architectural interest around London, usually on the first Thursday of the month. Each month will take a different format, including tours, creative activities and special insights into the RIBA Collections with an opportunity to socialise.
Accessibility
The entrance to the London Centre is up three steps with a handrail on either side, or via a platform lift.
