Join Lori Datlow from the New Haven Bird Club for an introduction to "birding." We'll learn about size, color, habitat and behavior of local birds. Then, we'll start our very own bird walk!
Look out your window - what do you see? Odds are, we all have [feathered] mutual friends living in our back yards! And more so, we see birds in all types of habitats - lakes, beaches, fields, wetlands, and more. Birdwatching is for everyone, everywhere - downtown, Fair Haven, the Annex, Westville - birding is for everyone. Join Lori Datlow from the New Haven Bird Club for a short briefing on birdwatching for newbies, then, join Laurie and members of the club for a bird walk near and around the library to try it out. Come down and give it a try!
Check out the New Haven Bird Club's anthology Chickadee Tales: A New Haven bird club anthology in our new materials!
We will have one set of binoculars and bird guides available for checkout as well- please call the library for more details.
