About this Event
Dear Soul Music Co Presents the EXPLORE: Community Concert Series (formerly known as the Unplugged+Live Concert Series)! Sponsored by the ASC Culture Blocks, a community partnership funded by Mecklenburg County. This touring concert series features live performances featuring local and touring music artists. Host and opening set by Charlotte, singer-songwriter, ARSENA.
Music will start promptly at 11am.
Our featured performer includes a full-band performance by Destiny Stone:
Destiny Stone blends gospel, blues, & jazz to create lyrics and soulful melodies that leave her audiences inspired. Over the past 5 years, Destiny has most notably performed at The Fillmore in Charlotte, NC; performed an original song for John Oates of Grammy winning duo Hall and Oates, and performed as a part of the U.S. National Trust for Historic Preservation's National Treasure dedication celebration for the renowned Nina Simone. Most recently, Destiny opened up for The Shindellas, a rising, Nashville-based girl-group, and for the Grammy nominated trio The Tones, formerly known as The Hamiltones. She was also nominated for a 2019 Carolina Music Award and featured on the cover of the Salisbury Magazine March 2020 Issue. Born in the state capital, Jackson, and raised in Holly Springs, Mississippi, Destiny moved to North Carolina to pursue a degree in Popular Music where she graduated from Catawba College in 2018. Destiny currently lives in Salisbury, NC and is also a music educator, worship leader, wife and mom.

A little bit about the series:
Founded in 2013 by singer-songwriter ARSENA, The Unplugged+Live Series is a touring concert series in support of independent singer-songwriters. The series was initially a house concert with the idea of a listening-room experience in mind. In 2015, Unplugged+Live received grant funding from the NC Arts and Science Council. Since then the series has drawn local, regional, and national acts expanding from private living rooms into local public venues across the region. Each show features hand-selected acts for an intimate show allowing listeners to engage with their original work. To date, over 150 regional acts have featured in this series now expanding to Atlanta, GA and Austin, TX. We believe independent artists gain loyal fans through these experiences so we create them!
