Step into the world of puppetry and bring your imagination to life!
In this hands-on workshop participants will design and build masks costumes puppets and set design based on collaborative fantastical drawings.
Techniques covered:
- Cardboard mask building and painting
- Paper costume design
- Cardboard puppet building
- Paper backdrop and set design
Whether you're a curious beginner or an expert puppeteer this workshop offers a welcoming space for adults to play collaborate and create.
Schedule:
11:00 AM – Introductions and creative drawing game
12:00 PM – Building demos and creation
1:30 PM – Lunch break
2:00 PM - Continue crafting and begin collaborative storytelling
4:30 PM – Informal showcase of our creations

About the facilitator: Leah Levine is an artist and educator based in Brooklyn New York. She teaches fine art set design and puppetry. She has shown her artwork at galleries and performance venues including Dixon Place La Mama and Center at West Park’s Object Movement Residency. Her own artwork explores the conceptualization of self versus other and the space between reality and imagination. She holds a BA in fine art and psychology from Wesleyan University.
