Exploration and Fun with Collage Workshop

Letterform Archive's massive collection includes several pieces of collage art that inspire playful curiosity and heighten imaginative creativity. Let's ignite the mixed media collage artist in you!

On the first day of this workshop, we'll explore objects in Letterform Archive's delightful collage collection, learn about artists' techniques, and then choose from a treasure trove of deaccessioned pieces that inspire us.

On the second day, we'll cut, paste, and place our chosen pieces onto paper, and use whatever other techniques we choose to make our artistic expressions come to life.

This workshop will provide materials that were formerly in the Archive's collection, fabric, metals, paint, glue, tape, and more to help you bring forth something singularly enchanting to keep or to share. Join us!

• Your camera/phone to document your process
• An apron, if you fear getting your clothes soiled with glue or paint
• Any materials you’d like to add to the process and/or special tools you think you might need
• Your laptop if you wish to photograph or scan images into Photoshop or other creative programs

Priscilla (Skilla) Zaccalini is the Education & Facilities Manager at Letterform Archive. With over thirty years of administrative and event planning experience, she brings to Letterform Archive her unique flair for organization and fun. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing to funky music, making collage art, writing and filming stories about the Ethereal Universe, and experimenting with making music to express her joy for life. She believes everyone is an artist.
