Experimental Sound Series at Cornell: Welsh harpist Rhodri Davies performs world premieres by Cornell composers Eliot Burk, Siravith Kongbandulsuk, Seare Farhat, Jasmine Morris, James Parker, Matias De Roux Uribe, and Michalis Li. Davies is recognized for a performance practice spanning free improvisation, new complexity, and experimental notation. His use of unconventional harp technique, including ebows, bowed strings, and alternative tuning, expands the instrument’s sonic palette and underscores a close, exploratory collaboration between composer and performer at the forefront of experimental music.
