Hands-on analysis of experimental data using ANOVA with SPSS
About this Event

This practical workshop is designed to build your confidence with experimental methods, focusing on Analysis-of-variance (ANOVA). This statistical approach is used in psychological research to analyse the effect that one or more factors is having on an outcome.

This day will show how to use both 1-way and 2-way ANOVA to analyse project data and will help you to put what you have learned into practice with hands-on SPSS support from expert tutors.

The technique will be of particular interest to Open University psychology students, as variants of ANOVA are used in the DE200 (Investigating psychology 2) and DE300 (Investigating psychology 3) projects.

To ensure you get all the help you need this event is restricted to 20 attendees.

The workshop will involve:

  • Taking part in mock experimental research studies
  • Learning how to input quantitative data into SPSS
  • Identifying and running appropriate analyses
  • Interpreting SPSS output
  • Writing up research findings as part of an experimental research project

PLEASE NOTE: This day includes practical sessions so you will need to bring your own laptop with SPSS installed.
