$100 for 2 classes, supplies needed.
Limited to 10 students.
This class is aimed at helping students explore a vast array of experimental drawing techniques and take a more abstracted approach to subject matter. It helps artists at any level unlock their visual expression through a more free-form approach to mark making, form, texture, etc.
Many artists feel more confident with paint, but feel a sense of intimidation at the idea of ‘drawing’. This class can help bridge the gap, instilling a stronger sense of freedom in drawing, and giving the artist more confidence to convey their visual expression, regardless of the medium they choose to work in.
Michael Sharp has a BFA in drawing and painting and worked as a teaching assistant while earning his degree. After college he worked as a substitute teacher, where he taught several art classes in the public school system. Before relocating to Birmingham just a few years ago, he spent over 20 years on the West Coast and taught several private art classes in the Los Angeles area. He specializes in fundamental drawing and figurative art.
