Poetry is about inner-observation and self-attunement. It’s to let one’s essence resonate with the most powerful of frequencies: love, truth, beauty, and authenticity, which may activate remembrance in both the poet and her readers something mystical, empowering one to break through the mundane and burst into true aliveness.Purple Parea Poetry presents an experiential poetry appreciation event at the Attic Room of MaybeItsFate Art Club on Saturday, Sept 20th at 2:30 pm.
I will share my appreciation and interpretation of Rabindranath Tagore's masterpiece "Stray Birds". Rabindranath Tagore is the first Asian poet to win Nobel Prize back in 1913.
Misha Feigin will be a featured poet. He won the Thomas Merton Prize for Poetry in 2000. His books include "Searching for Irina", "Abraham's Bagel", "Skippers in Training", "Cloud Letters", and "November Ending". I read his collection of Haiku Triads in his book "Time to Listen" and enjoyed his work.
Open mic is available. Zoom session is available.
This event will be more interactive than a typical poetry reading as all real time comments, requests, and questions from the audience are welcome. If there is an audience request, poet will repeat the reading of the poem once to allow slower rhythm and more inner space for imagery re-creation by the audience. This interactive format intends to strike a more thoughtful balance between poet's expressions and audience's appreciation.
This event is free of charge.
Best,
Olivia
