Join Daniel Piper, PhD, MIM’s curator for Latin America, to learn about the vibrant musical diversity throughout the distinct regions of Mexico. In this talk and multimedia presentation, Piper goes beyond Mexico’s familiar popular genres to explore music and instruments tied to regional social dances, ceremonies, and celebrations that keep traditional music alive and relevant in the 21st century.
