About this Event
With funding from UKSPF Cotswolds Tourism are delivering a visitor economy support programme to help local businesses thrive by developing and promoting new experiential products.
Experiential tourism offers a fresh array of opportunities that go beyond traditional tourism products based on goods or services. It actively involves visitors in unique activities, allowing them to create lasting memories and engage deeply with local stories, culture, and the essence of a place and its people.
This first workshop is seen as the first step for businesses and is being delivered in partnership with Unmissable England and its founder Chris Brant who has dedicated his career to transforming the way people explore and connect with England's rich heritage and vibrant culture.
This workshop is designed for SMEs to start their journey with practical activities to begin developing new bookable experiences.
Workshop agenda:
• What Makes an Experience
• How to Deliver your Experience
• Activity 1: Identifying the Story
• Activity 2: Experience Development
• Costs vs Profits
• Taking Your Experience to Market
• Distribution
• Q&A Discussion
• Next Steps & informal networking over lunch
This workshop dives into the world of experiential tourism, businesses will gain an understanding what it entails and explore the essential ingredients required to develop a brand-new bookable experience.
The best visitor experiences are the ones guests leave with many fond memories. To help create those special memories is the story. The story is key to any experience. During two practical activities with support from facilitators, participants will begin to identify local stories unique and special in their area. From this exercise we’ll see where the gaps are in the market to develop new experiences and what hands-on activities could form the experience. We will also look at the importance of being bookable and new routes to market.
At the end of the workshop businesses will then be asked to complete an outline of what they plan to develop in the next three months as further 1:1 support, resources and additional workshops will be on offer for a small number of businesses in each local authority area where UKSPF funding has been allocated
