About this Event

**Policy Update** King's Chapel requires all visitors and staff to wear a mask while visiting the building.

Led by our team of knowledgeable and passionate Historic Site Educators, the tour will guide visitors through this National Historic Landmark along Boston's Freedom Trail and through over 330 years of Boston history through the lens of King's Chapel and its historic members.

Over the course of this 40 minute tour, visitors will explore the ground level, crypt, and gallery of King's Chapel's 1754 building, and gain a fuller understanding of King's Chapel's significance in Boston's historic landscape. From its founding in 1686 as New England's first Church of England to the impact on slavery and the colonial slave trade on Boston's growth to weathering the American Revolution to a theological revolution within the church in the 1780s, there is so much rich and powerful history to explore on a visit to King's Chapel. The crypt offers a unique look at colonial death and burial practices at one of the only surviving church crypts in New England.

Prior to tours, all participants are required to fill out a pre-visit form, which includes mandatory agreements to comply with King's Chapel's safety and health policies. This includes mask requirements and self-certifying that you are not experiencing potential symptoms of COVID-19.
