Join us for an Expedition to Western Kansas: Where Earth Meets Sky! With wide open spaces and dark nights we should have some amazing stargazing while camping at Historic Lake Scott. We've pulled together all the ingredients for an epic adventure. We've done all the research, made all the reservations and mapped out all the stops all you have to do is sign up! This trip is for Dirty Girls Only - no dudes, no kids, no dogs. :D

Here's the plan...
We will help connect all trip participants to facilitate carpooling and possible caravaning for this adventure. It's about a 5 hour drive give or take a few bathroom stops!
Friday May 30th: Arrive at Historic Lake Scott State Park to set up camp. Arrival time is flexible based on your needs. Dinner is on your own. Sunset is at 8:45pm. We'll have the campfire ready!
Saturday May 31st : We will visit: The El Cuartelejo Pueblo and The Steele Homestead at Lake Scott, Monument Rocks, Punished Woman’s Fork National Historic Site, The El Quartelejo Museum and Jerry Thomas Gallery & Collection ending the day with a Ranger guided sunset hike at Little Jerusalem Badlands!!
Sunday June 1st: Break camp, final hikes at Lake Scott. Head home full of satisfaction and adventure!
Gear and supply list: Bring all your camping gear, hiking gear (day pack, trekking poles), head lamp, snacks, 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts. We'll manage the fires and provide hot water and coffee for breakfast.

What are you paying for? Dirty Girl Adventures, LLC will organize the event, plan all the details, and coordinate all aspects of the adventure. We'll provide a guide, support on the trail and docent information throughout the event. We will monitor the weather and conditions to ensure that our event and participants are safe. Our knowledgeable and informed guide service includes a leading guide and a sweep guide throughout the adventure. We'll also provide trail support including: first aid, knowledge of the environment and locale, safety monitoring, pacing, interpretive information on the environment and location.
In case you are wondering about our refund policy – refunds are given up to two weeks before the date of the event when the refund is requested in an email directed to [email protected]. After that, there are no refunds. Dirty Girl Adventures may cancel an event due to weather or conditions. Everyone will receive a refund if that is the reason for the cancellation. We will paddle and hike in cool, rainy or snowy conditions. Cancellation only occurs in severe weather or other dangerous conditions.
