At Expat Cinema: Meet up we screen recent foreign language films with English subtitles. Afterwards we get together to chat and network over a drink.📍 Location: film theatre Rialto VU.
🎥 Screening: A journey of resistance and hope in The Blue Trail by Gabriel Mascaro on Sunday October 5th at 17:15.
🎬 THE BLUE TRAIL: In the near future, the Brazilian government has come up with an ingenious solution to the “elderly problem”: everyone over 75 is declared “living heritage”, which amounts to the loss of all basic rights. They are no longer allowed to decide anything independently and are eventually put on transport to live out their last days in a remote elderly colony. This also awaits 77-year-old Tereza, a sprightly woman who has worked all her life in the Amazon and is far from finished with it. She would prefer to travel, but is no longer allowed to do so without her daughter's permission. The elderly colony seems terrible to her and so she decides to set off alone, across the Amazon.
