What is Expansion?
Expansion is a community outreach and advocacy series by Greenhouse Gives that creates space for real stories, honest dialogue, and deep connection. Each event features a diverse panel of advocates and leaders who share lived experiences to foster awareness, compassion, and cultural understanding. Expansion events aim to uplift underrepresented voices, challenge systemic barriers, and build a more inclusive world through conversation, connection, and community learning.
What to Expect:
- Inspiring Panel Discussions:Hear firsthand stories from individuals with lived experiences related to immigration, bicultural identity, and navigating life between cultures. Explore themes of belonging, identity, resilience, family, language, and cultural connection through authentic conversation.
- Q&A Session: Engage with our panelists by asking tough, unspoken questions in a safe, respectful environment. Gain deeper understanding through real answers directly from the source.
- Vendors, Performers & Activities: Experience the richness of diverse cultures through live performances, local vendors, artwork, food, educational resources, and community organizations that celebrate cultural heritage and encourage cross-cultural appreciation.
- Meaningful Connections: Connect with people from diverse backgrounds, discover new perspectives, and celebrate the power of storytelling to build bridges across cultures and strengthen our community.

This isn't just a panel—it's an opportunity to step into someone else's world. Through honest storytelling, heartfelt conversation, and moments of humor, reflection, and resilience, our panelists will share what it's like to navigate immigration, bicultural identity, and life between cultures. You'll be invited to ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, and engage in authentic dialogue.
Beyond the panel, you'll experience cultural performances, local vendors, food, artwork, and community organizations that celebrate the richness and diversity of cultures from around the world.

Tickets: Sliding Scale Admission to keep the event accessible to all while supporting our costs

- Supporter tickets: $20 (includes preferred seating, perks, and helps fund future events!)
Directions
The Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix is located at 697 W Rio Salado Pkwy in Mesa, AZ. The center is on the south side of Rio Salado Pkwy and is easiest to enter coming from the west so you can turn right into the center.
Free Parking
About 30 spots on-site, plus free neighborhood street parking across Rio Salado Pkwy on N Cherry and N Date
Accessibility
Wheelchair-friendly throughout most of the venue; the garden area has steps and is not currently wheelchair-accessible
