EXOTIKON Music & Arts Festival is a rollercoaster, weekend-long celebration of Mid-20th Century suave escapism culture. Here, you’ll be immersed in the many worlds of VINTAGE EXOTICA: Lounge, Latin, Tiki, Jungle Funk, Trip Hop, Mod Dance, Psychedelia, Space, Electronica and so much more!

In June 2023, we held EXOTIKON ONE in Los Angeles, California. EXOTIKON celebrates the many worlds of VINTAGE TIKI, LOUNGE and EXOTICA! It was a whirlwind weekend filled with music, multimedia presentations, shopping, symposiums, exhibitions, rum tastings, meet and greets, live performance art, and so much more! If you love everything mid-20th century music and lifestyle, EXOTIKON is for you!

DAY ONE you will find yourself mingling in the inner sanctum of the wonderous MAYAN THEATER! This special EXOTIKON DAY ONE CONCERT features an extravaganza of avant-garde exotica entertainment in the historic MAYAN THEATER!

EXOTIKON is proud to announce our headliner, the legendary musical art collective, THE RESIDENTS! This groundbreaking group of musicians have been out on the cutting edge for five decades. Since their formation, they have consistently pushed the boundaries, earning a rabid fan-base and critical acclaim.

A Special One-Time LIVE Performance of Their Groundbreaking 1979 Concept Album, ESKIMO at EXOTIKON!

The Residents plan to treat the live performance of ESKIMO with a reverence generally reserved for classical compositions. There is enough here to send the purists into a standing ovation while simultaneously hurling tomatoes at the stage. ESKIMO remains the magnum opus for The Residents, and in many ways, a holy grail for fans who have waited forty-five years to see and hear this performed live for the first time.

ESKIMO is right on brand for what we celebrate at EXOTIKON. It is essentially a primitive themed Exotica-adventure album. Imagine the spirit of a musical Martin Denny tour through Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise if the ride was in Alaska among the Inuit Eskimo tribes!

Forty-five years after its initial release, the group will perform their groundbreaking Exotica concept album in its entirety for the first time ever!

ESKIMO, released in 1979, is considered one of the most ambitious and influential works in their extensive discography as well as a landmark in the history of musical experimentation. Receiving widespread critical acclaim upon its release, ESKIMO became The Residents’ highest selling album of all time.

Opening DAY ONE for The Residents will be a rare LA performance by orchestral exotica masters, CREEPXOTICA! Their haunting sounds are matched by their theatrical presentation. The Creeps are world-renowned for their immersive stage performances and this show will be no exception. Their special brand of classic Exotica mixed with alternative vibes and hard driving surf rock are consistent crowd-pleasers and have earned them a dedicated following. Whether this will be your first experience delving into the magical world of CREEPXOTICA, or you are a seasoned follower of their mystical madness, prepare your mind for a hallucinatory trip to a psychedelic world of wonders.

The newly reopened Clifton’s Pacific Seas is a true sight to behold! A wonderous Tiki Bar, filled with history, an immersive nautical themed environment and top-notch tropical cocktails to temp your pallet. EXOTIKON attendees are invited to join us at Clifton’s with meet and greets, quality hang time and special musical guests! We’ll celebrate into the evening before another jammed-packed day of adventure with our full immersive experience on Sunday, DAY TWO.
