About this Event

Over the past few decades, new digital technology has developed rapidly, revolutionizing the world and our daily lives. From smart phones to smart cars, the digital revolution has greatly enriched the way we live. We live in a high-performance culture in which everything is expected to be faster and more efficient. Therefore, embracing advanced digital solutions will become imperative to stay ahead of the competition. With thousands of dental practices and labs adopting digital workflows, now is the perfect time to explore how digital technologies can help your business. Digital dentistry increases the efficiency and accuracy of dental treatment while ensuring predictable results. With digital dentistry we can do more, for less cost, with greater accuracy and outcomes for our patients and clients. Every great journey starts with a single first step.

In this course you will learn how to harness the most powerful dental CAD software ever created, EXOCAD Rijeka 3.1. You will learn to design single crowns, bridges, custom abutments and crowns/bridges, dentures for printing or milling, nightguards and implant borne restorations (All on X). EXOCAD can do all this and much, much more. You will also learn simple strategies to implement this technology in your office or lab for the least cost and greatest ROI.

Course outline:

Getting started with EXOCAD

• Introduction to DentalDB: an explanation of basic features and indications, how to create a new job, material and parameter settings, and material configuration.

• Introduction to DentalCAD: an explanation of basic and advanced features, the user interface including hotkeys, wizard versus expert mode.

• Application in practice: designing an anatomic crown, an inlay/onlay restoration and a 3-unit bridge.

Bite Splint Module

• general setup, explanation of parameters

• Application in practice: design a simple flat plane bite splint, design a Michigan bite splint with anterior guidance using the virtual articulator.

Smile Creator

• General setup and import of 2D photos

• Use photorealistic rendering, helper lines and 2D/3D real-time tooth placement during the design process for the aesthetic planning of a “Smile Makeover”

• Application in practice: Design 6 anterior crowns and an anterior mockup in combination with Smile Creator

Model Creator Module

• Introduction to the basic features and general setup

• Application in practice: Use different building plates for segmented models, plateless models, waxup models or models with provisionals

• Style dies and gingiva as removable, or design a complete model with a second set of singular dies

• Design models for implant cases using lab analogs

Provisional Module

• Introduction to the basic features and general setup

• Application in practice: Design a provisional crown, a provisional bridge and a provisional bridge with a missing tooth using the eggshell technique.

Bar Module

• General setup including hotkeys

• Explanation of the bar profile dialog

• Application in Practice: Design a bar with attachments

Implant Module

• Introduction to the basic features and general setup

• Application and practice: design a custom abutment with superstructure in a single design session, design a screw retained bridge with angled screw channels, design a “Screwmentable” abutment and crown.

• Design a full arch waxup and convert it to a screw retained full arch prosthetic using photogrammetry data.

Full Denture Module

• general setup, basic and advanced model analysis and explanation of the design process

• Application in practice: design a full denture prosthetic and design a single arch denture

PartialCAD Module

• Introduction to the basic features and general setup

• Application in practice: Design different frameworks on the upper or lower jaw in combination with DentalCAD.

• design a Flipper and flexible partial for milling or printing.

We will be providing fully functional temporary EXOCAD licenses for the course. Participants are required to bring their own laptop computer that can run the exocad software. Computer guidelines listed below.
