What does it mean to be home and yet not home? E4TT explores that duality musically with Shostakovich's "From Jewish Folk Poetry" (selections, sung in the poetry's original Yiddish) and the world premiere of "Skazka," twisted Russian folktales reinterpreted by emerging composer Alex Malinas, in a musical dialogue with works by Andrea Casarrubios, Stella G. Gitelman Willoughby, David Garner AND a World Premiere by Mary Bianco.
Performed by E4TT (soprano Nanette McGuinness, cellist Megan Chartier, and pianist Margaret Halbig), joined by Carina Kahane, soprano; Melinda Martinez Becker, mezzo-soprano; Alex Malinas, narrator; Aria Shum, violin; Taylor Robinson, flute/piccolo; Zoe King, clarinet; and Eddie Virtgaym, percussion.
Pre-concert composer talk at 3:30 p.m.
Tickets: $30/25/10 (in person), $20 (livestream)
